The Making of feature for the George Lucas movie 'THX 1138'.

The film features a conversation between Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola, producer of THX 1138. They discuss Lucas' vision for the film, including his ideas about science fiction in general and in particular his concept of the "used future" which would famously feature in his film Star Wars. Intercut with this discussion is footage shot prior to the start of production of THX 1138 showing several of its actors having their heads shaved, a requirement for appearing in the film. In several cases the actors are shown being shaved in a public location. For example, Maggie McOmie is shaved outside the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, while Robert Duvall watches a sporting event as his hair is cut off. Another actor, Marshall Efron, who would later play an insane man in the film, cut off his own hair and was filmed doing so in a bathtub.

In an underground city in a dystopian future, the protagonist, whose name is "THX 1138 4EB", is shown running through passageways and enclosed spaces. It is soon discovered that THX is escaping his community. The government uses computers and cameras to track down THX and attempt to stop him; however, they fail. He escapes by breaking through a door and runs off into the sunset. The government sends their condolences to YYO 7117, THX's mate, claiming that THX has destroyed himself. Electronic Labyrinth: THX-1138 4EB is a 1967 science fiction short film written and directed by George Lucas while he attended the University of Southern California's film school.

Just outside Paris, France, inside a high-tech vault, requiring three independently controlled keys, rests a small metallic cylinder about the diameter of a golf ball. Encased within three vacuum-sealed bell jars it may not look like much, but it is one of the most important objects on the planet. It affects nearly every aspect of our lives from the moment we are born, to the food we eat, the cars we drive, and even the medicines we take. The Last Artifact follows the high-stakes race to redefine the weight of the world reveals the untold story of one of the most important objects on the planet. The kilogram, the base unit of mass in the International System of Units, helped send humans to the moon and satellites into space. This small hunk of metal is the object against which all others are measured. Yet over time, its mass mysteriously eroded by the weight of an eyelash. A change that, unbeknownst to most, unleashed a crisis with potentially dire consequences.

A short documentary on the Francis Ford Coppola musical One From the Heart.

A look at the unmade story, The Foe from the Future, which formed the basis of The Talons of Weng-Chiang.

On Oct. 14th, 1991, a videotape fell out of the sky and made a large crater in Bloomington, Minnesota. We at Amazing Schlock were fortunate enough to come into possession of that tape in 1998, and we made The Movie From the Future, a documentary about the "space-tape" and its amazing contents. The tape had apparently fallen back in time through a black hole, and on it was a movie called Daddy, I Love an Alien. The film is a fascinating look at species discrimination, robot civil rights, the war between humanity and various aliens, and, of course, love. The Movie From the Future consists of large clips of Daddy, I Love an Alien as well as informative interviews with the scientists who have made the study of the "space-tape" their life's work, as well as with those who believe that the film is a clever hoax perpetrated by desperate filmmakers. Is the film a hoax? If it's not, what can it teach us? Watch the film and decide for yourself.

"Only fifty minutes to go until the end of the world, please head to the check-out!", thus goes the instruction that rings out from the loudspeakers of a Moscow supermarket. When cashier Gulya shuts up the shop and resolves to prepare for the apocalypse, a naked individual appears from amongst the aisles to claim that he has arrived from the future with the task of saving the planet.
